Review rules
Reviews on Bloghints Services pages are written by customers and read by a person before they go live. These rules are the same for every business, paid or not.
Who can write a review
- You sign in with a link we email you. We never show your email address; your review shows your first name and the first letter of your last name.
- One review per person per business.
- You used the business yourself. You do not work for it, own it, or work for a competitor.
What we do not publish
- Reviews that were paid for or rewarded (discounts, gifts, free months).
- Reviews without first-hand experience, or about a different business.
- Insults, threats, hate, or private details such as names of staff, phone numbers or order numbers.
- Links, email addresses and advertising.
A low review that follows these rules stays live. We do not change the words of a review; if one breaks a rule, we do not publish it and tell the reviewer why.
What businesses may do
- Answer each review once, in public. The answer is read by Bloghints before it goes live.
- Invite customers with their invite link. Those reviews are marked "Invited by the business". Invite all customers, not only happy ones.
- Report a review they believe breaks these rules.
What businesses cannot do
- Pay to remove, hide or move a review. Featured and Sponsored listings follow the same rules.
- Review their own business, or ask staff, friends or family to do it.
- Offer anything in return for a review or for changing one.
Stars and widgets
The average and the review widgets for other websites appear once a business has at least 3 published reviews. The numbers come straight from Bloghints and cannot be edited by the business.
Reports and complaints
Every review has a "Report review" button. A person at Bloghints reads every report and removes a review only when it breaks these rules. Reviewers can ask us to remove their own review at any time through the contact page.
